Highly Recommended Authentic Restaurants In Denver Area

For authentic Japanese sushi and sashimi, go to

SUSHI DEN

1487 South Pearl ST

Denver, CO 80201

(303) 777-0826

Truly superb! This place rocks your socks off. Around $100 per person, definitely not cheap, but it’s worth every penny and the cost matches the quality. Order the best stuff off catch of the day menu, their fish is flown in from Japan daily. This is why we call it AUTHENTIC.

Suggestions and tips to help you ( for two) order optimally at Sushi Den.

Please note that sashimi should be ordered before sushi. NEVER dip sashimi or sushi in soy sauce. Wasabi and ginger are used as palate cleansers, not entrees.

For authentic Vietnam pho, go to

PHO DUY

6600 W 120th Ave

Broomfield, CO 80020

Pho is prepared consistently with what you’d expect (perfect clear beef broth, noodles, meat, fixings). Very generous portions with great value for money. The service is really fast, sometimes a little aggressive which never bothers me. I go there for food.

Suggestions and tips:

There are 3 pho restaurants within a hundred yards, make sure you get the right one.

For 2 people you may order Spring Rolls with Grilled Pork or Beef (2 rolls) as appetizer which costs only $4.95, and 2 Large Pho (Rare Steak, Well-dong Brisket, Flank, Tendon and Tripe) for $8.95/each.

For authentic Cantonese dim sum, go to

STAR KITCHEN

2917 W Mississippi Ave

Denver, CO 80219

(303) 936-0089

It’s as authentic as it comes, although it may not be the MOST authentic dim sum kitchen compared to Hong Kong, New York or California. This is the only Chinese restaurants we’ve been going back to. Definitely the best dim sum we’ve found in Denver.

Suggestions and tips:

Expect a long wait during peak hours, usually after 11 a.m. Make sure you get there right after they open. Choosing your dim sum can be intimidating but just go for it. It’s all good and worth trying. Service is prompt and kind. Staff will answer questions but they prefer when you know what you like. The carts will keep coming, order quickly and be ready make the call on the dim sum quickly.
